The Coolest Thing That Happened Since I Started to Write
THIS is Why I Write
“OK. Want to be spooked?”
This was the question I received from an old friend. I don’t hear from her much, and when I do it’s usually me initiating the conversation.
I was intrigued.
My friend is an English teacher, and a writer herself. She went on to explain that while she was doing some research for a book she is writing about a man who helped save her father’s life back in the day. And, as research will, it led her to look into another person related to the story, an historian named Dr. Clara L. Small.
She googled Dr. Small’s name.
She followed the search results to this page which is a blog post on the website for my podcast.
She saw my little avatar and name on the post I’d written.
My friend went on to express her amazement that as she researched an author she discovered… “…I’m actually reading YOU!!??!?!!”
I never expected that a friend of mine, doing research on her own, oblivious to anything I was working on, would independently be directed to read something I wrote.
